Tea Bowls of Momoyama

In the Japanese Arts section of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, there were some tea utensils on display.  There were a couple of tea bowls taken off display before for taking their photographs.  They were back on display and I had an opportunity to view them.  They looked parched, and I felt sorry for them – for not having been used at all for ages.
