I had an opportunity to view another cha’ire the other day at E’ise’i Bunko.  The room was well-lit and I was able to clearly see the black glaze like hovering clouds over the persimmon glaze.  Very nice!

There are sharp angles at the shoulders and at the bottom, which seem to bring the whole piece together.

Either the glaze or the form, a “copy” cannot really match this level of detail.

Sansa’i Hosokawa obtained this cha’ire from Yoshishige Kanamori, the Lord of Izumo, and the piece is named after him.
