The third in the Yamaguchi Convention Series is “Mo’uri Mansion” in Ho’ufu.

The Mo’uri family was the lord of Hagi (Cho’ushu’u) Province that included Nagato and Su’o’u, and was granted the title of duke under the Kazoku system (the Japanese hereditary peerage system) after the Meiji Restoration.  This mansion was completed in 1906 as the main residence of Duke Mo’uri.  Emperors and Empresses Taisho and Showa have all stayed here.  The mansion is open to public as a museum today.

You can overlook the garden from the second floor.
