Every time I visit New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, it impresses me that even items on display without much fanfare appear (at least to my eye) quite valuable.  Here are some examples.

DSC00353

Southern Song Dynasty Tea Bowl

Bizen Round Dish with Botan-mochi (circular) Pattern(Momoyama Period)
Black Seto Glaze Tea Bowl “Iron Mallet (Tettsui)”

Aha.  I’ve always thought that Oribe was popular among Westerners.

Oribe Mukozuke Dish with Arrow and Pine Pattern (Momoyama Period)
Oribe Tubular Mukozuke Dish with Wisteria Pattern (Edo Period)
Oribe Mizutsugi with Cherry-blossom and Picnic Curtain Pattern (Momoyama or Edo)
