楽焼一閑人蓋置川嵜和楽作・Raku ware Ikkanjin Futa’oki by Waraku Kawasaki

七種蓋置の「一閑人」蓋置についてお話します。

Here is a note on “ikkanjin” (one idle man) futa’oki.  It is also one of the Seven Futa’oki.

四角い井戸の片側に井戸を覗き込むような人形がついています。

On one side of a four-sided well, there is a doll-figure attached, as if looking into the well.

手に取って扱い畳に置く際、人形の頭が釜付きになります。ですから、炉では頭が左、風炉では頭が右になります。

When the te’ishu picks it up and puts it down on tatami, the head points toward the kama.  That means, the head turns left with ro, and right with furo.
