Seto glaze Ta’ika’i by Tei’ichi Okeya

When we practiced “naga’o” (long string), o’imatsu cha’ire was used.  This time we brought out a ta’ika’i (big sea).  It is said that the name comes from its big opening.  A smaller variety is called “na’ika’i” (inland sea).  (Well, then, a na’ika’i with Seto glaze would be Seto Na’ika’i – Seto Inland Sea.  LOL.)

Like o’imatsuta’ika’i is handled like hira-natsume.  And there is no need to wipe around (for gents) or wipe down (for ladies) the body of ta’ika’i.
